How To Perform Bulk Updates To Your Youtube Channel Videos Lessons Learned The Hard Way

So I decided to take two days off to celebrate my birthday and relax. I said, let me play around with my youtube channel since I was relaxed. I decided to do a bulk update to title to append the word: Family Vlogs. Wow! What a mistake! Instead of appending I reset all titles to 197 videos to: | Family Vlog! I spent two days fixing the mess! At least I got a chance to review my titles, descriptions and tags.
I had to painstakingly edit all of them one by one to fix the mess. So, don't do what I did!

I was fresh from listening to advice from VidIQ about making sure your title, description and tags are tagged correctly with the audience you want and I got too excited! And being lazy I wanted a shortcut to performing these updates to my channel.

My channel was struggle to gain organic views and I needed to do something drastic to attract viewers that watch family style vlogs. This is what prompted my action to my regret. But I did it and edited all my videos to match the audience I want. I hope this works and will let you know!

How To Perform Bulk Updates On Your Videos Safely

To perform bulk updates to your videos do the following:
  1. Click on Creator Studio
  2. Click Video Manager
  3. Click on Videos
  4. Click on the Checkbox near the top with the word Actions
  5. Click on Select All Your Videos Link to select all your videos (this will update ALL videos at once).
  6. Click on Action Drop down list
  7. Click on Title or Description or Tags or any of the items available on the drop down list.
    1. A menu shows with a dropdown that contains the word: Set To!
    2. Pay Attention here. If you want to replace your title use "Set To" otherwise you most likely want to append to your existing title, so select "Append to End"
    3. "Append To End" will take your existing title and add any text you choose
  8. Say Yes on confirmation
