Stress is the number one cause of disease. An amazing amount of research has been done that proves that chemical reactions in your body caused by stress lead to many illnesses. So, if you can manage your stress levels you are on your way to being healthy. Illnesses like obesity, heart disease, depression, uncontrolled weight-loss can all point back to stress levels in your life. But what causes stress in the first place? I believe it is our inability to step-back and make an effort to relax. Yes, we must examine how we process issues that cause stress in our lives but that requires that we relax first then we may be in a better position to deal with issues in a way that is calm and clear. People assume that medication or expensive massages will reduce stress, but there are lots of things you can do to reduce stress without breaking the bank.
